Cool...I am on .NET Rocks TV (DNR-TV)

Silverlight Logo

While in Bulgaria I had time to sit down with Carl Franklin and do an episode of DNRTV.  I am happy to annouce its now live. I built a simple data-driven application using Silverlight 2 with Blend 2 and Visual Studio. This screencast should some basic techniques of separation of UI and Data in Silverlight that will help you do your data binding directly in Blend 2 SP1.  If you haven't seen how this works, go grab the Screencast now!

Hey Shawn, when you were creating that red button, you said "if you want to learn tricks for blend, you should ******* with photoshop". I tried to understand what you said, but it's not clear. So, what were you saying about how to learn tricks in Blend in relation to Photoshop?

Sorry, what I mean is that if you look at Photoshop tutorials on the web (or elsewhere) you can learn the common tricks that can be applied to Blend as well. As some of the common techniques are possible in both tools. The shiny button I showed was directly 'borrowed' from a Learn Photoshop page I saw a few years ago (I couldn't find it otherwise i'd post a link). Hope that helps clarify what I meant.

Thanks Shawn!

The word that I couldn't catch in recording was "Learn" Photoshop. I agree about borrowing from Photoshop. It was just bugging me, I couldn't catch it in the recording.

Man, you need to do a series of Data videos and sell them. SL really needs some formal traing videos. There is nothing out there to do data, binding, Blend LOB app design. Everything is disconnected!
